Today it’s not enough to check out the latest fashion on the catwalks or to go ‘cool hunting’ for the most authentic streetstyles. So much has changed in the last few decades – not just the looks, more importantly, the fundamental processes and objectives – that we must start by admitting that it is no longer clear if even the words ‘fashion’, ‘style’ and ‘streetstyle’ have any meaning at all.....

Our unprecedented 21^st century approach to style – personal, bubbling up from individual experience and creativity, extraordinarily eclectic, based upon the juxtaposition of unexpected, often contrary components – represents the fourth identifiable and distinct system according to which our species has approached the ancient and universal question of how to decorate, modify and cloth the human body.
